Today,
the options for radiography include not only film, but with recent technological
advances, it is now possible to meet a wide range of NDT inspection applications
with digital solutions that are reliable and cost effective. W. H.
Henken Industries, Inc., along with Agfa Digital Solutions and RADView
software provide a platform for common input and output digital modules to cover
your needs now and in the future.
Our technical team continuously investigates a wide range of detector
technologies in collaboration with end users and customers. They have
selected the following solutions that achieve different levels of radiographic
sensitivity, speed, and throughput, targeted to different applications.
They include:
 | Film Digitization whereby a
radiograph is produced in the conventional manner on a normal sheet of
industrial x-ray film, the film is then placed in a reader, the image is
read and digitized for viewing and archiving on the RADView software. |
 | Storage Phosphor Computed Radiography
(CR). With this process, the standard film is replaced by a phosphor
plate. The radiograph is produced by placing the phosphor plate in the
same manner as the film, the exposure completed, the phosphor plate is then
placed in a reader to be read and the image is produced. |
 | Amorphous Selenium (a-Se) or Amorphous Silicon (a-Si) Direct Radiography
(DR). Utilizing this process, the image is captured directly on the
flat plate and the image is transmitted directly to the computer. No
intermediate steps or additional processes are required to capture the
image. |
The performance characteristics of these systems can help determine which is
the right method for your application.
