General Characteristics:
D8 is a very sensitive, fine-grain film with high
contrast, intended for industrial use with
or without lead screens. For shorter exposures, F8 can be used with
fluorescent of fluorometallic (RCF) screens.
Applications:
D8 film is mainly used for applications which
require shorter exposure times. It gives excellent
results when used with the other Structurix films in Multi-Film techniques.
D8 can be used for testing of off-shore pipelines
with lead screens as well as the in-service
inspection of pipelines x-rayed with limited energy sources. Excellent
results can also be obtained using F8 film with fluorescent screens in
flash radiography.
